Job Description: Field Application Sales Engineer

Our Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) delivers cutting-edge custom logic solutions across a wide spectrum of customer markets. To help our customers to develop innovative solutions we are looking to expand our team with a motivated Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to work with our UK sales team.

As an FAE in our sales organization, you will understand our customers' system requirements and provide expertise in the use of our products. You will enable our customers to bring competitive products to market in a timeframe that maximizes their success. You will be the technical consultant to our key customers as they go from architectural evaluation through completion of their designs.

Your specific role will include the following:
Field Application Sales Engineer

Contribute and execute to territory, account and opportunity plans as part of the Strategic Sales Team

    • Engage with our customer's high level system architects and key decision makers to understand their systems applications, influence their design choices, and provide creative solutions to their problems, ensuring that they are architected with and around our PSG products
    • Align with the key influencers both internal and the customer's technical staff to coordinate design support and technical training
    • Demonstrate teamwork and ability to work effectively in informal and formal teams with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
    • Have strong presentation and communication skills to present capabilities of our product portfolio and perform demonstrations of feasibility studies and proofs of concept in customer meetings and seminars
    • Ensure that the roadmap is aligned with our Customers long-term requirements by being an internal advocate for their product and support needs


Qualifications: Field Application Sales Engineer

    • BS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 5 years of industry experience
    • Experience in FPGA, ASIC, ASSP, CPU or DSP or extensive digital design including embedded system design (HW and SW)
    • Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills. The person filling this role should be comfortable presenting technical solutions to customers
    • Must be proficient in the use of FPGA development tools
    • Regular Business travel required
    • Would suit an engineer looking to move into a sales role

Additional (Preferred) Qualifications: Field Application Sales Engineer

  • MSEE, MSCS, or MS in Computer Engineering
  • OpenCL or High Level Design language expertise
